New Year challenge to Sinn Fein |
Tuesday, 13 January 2009 |
We issue a New Year challenge to Sinn Fein and all those who associate with them to make 2009 the year they stop revelling in terrorism. For too long Irish Republicanism has been driven by the need for violence and inspired by the past acts of violence. Each new young generation was blooded by the previous and taught to glorify terrorism and to sanitise murder. They are taught their nationalist ideology is worth more than human life and that terrible deeds when done in its name become justifiable.
The sanctity of human life the reverence for human rights and the complete denial of any right to destroy both for political or ideological gain is what we need to see from Republicans. Until then their talk of pace does not ring true and their role in the democratic process is hypocritical. Their generational indoctrination of Irelands youth is a damning indictment of their movement and threatens the future peace and prosperity of the entire island and the two counties which it houses.
It is the polar opposite of democracy to preach terror, it is the most worrying feature of any political party that they can continue to see a positive aspect to their use of terrorism. This fascist approach to political education is worrying and the proponents must be challenged. To that end we as victims have a vital role.
As we all must understand young people indeed anyone below the age of thirty today will scarecely remember the troubles anyone below the age of 25 will no have clear first hand memory. It is only the mid thirties generation that can claim to remember with clarity the real effects of terrorism. To that end those who did live through it and did suffer must be allowed and indeed encouraged to tell their story and to dispel the myths and glorification of violence.
This is all the more important as we see unscrupulous film makers and media leaders romanticising the violence of the past and selling it as honest and honourable. The real story must be shown and the real pain portrayed. Groups like FAIR must be allowed to present their case and to educate younger generations to ensure the terrible mistakes of the past are not repeated. |

Press release 11 December 2008 Recognition After a meeting with the Prime Minister on Wednesday 10th December 2008 which was attended by representatives from FAIR, Canary Warf and London 7/7 we have decided to unite to deal with the Libyan issue. After the positive response from the Prime Minister which we have to say that he was very genuine and forthcoming and showed great concern not only to the people of Northern Ireland but also to the mainland. We have now decided to put a delegation together to travel to Libya to speak to the Libyan Government and hopefully with Col. Gadafi himself. The delegation will consist of victims from Northern Ireland and the mainland along with MP’s both from Northern Ireland and the mainland hopefully with Andrew Mackinlay MP who has been of great assistance to get us to this stage. There has been a great interest shown by some members of the House of Lords who would also like to travel with us. It is good to see our people united for a cause like this which is about getting justice and recognition for the innocent victims of terrorist atrocities irrespective of their religion. Now that the Prime Minister has taken us seriously hopefully that when we approach the Libyan Government they will see that we are not going to go away and this will give them the opportunity where they will be seen in good standing by the rest of the world by saying OK, this is part of our past, a past we don’t like but are now going to bring a closure to it all. By doing this it will allow companies, especially from the UK being able to do business more openly with the Government, who in the past supported terrorism. William Frazer 07787743024 |

Republican abduction bid |
Thursday, 27 November 2008 |
William Frazer spoke out exclusively about the Republican abduction bid near Crossmaglen. He stated that “This was a well orchestrated attack which involved up to ten vehicles and over 15 individuals who were able to descend on our car at a relative blind spot in the road. The attack was made all the worse by the fact they felt confident to carry it out with police less than a mile away in both directions. Clearly they hoped to carry out the attack while the police were involved in other operations.
The orchestrated nature of the attack mirrored other attacks in the past and bore shocking similarities to the attack upon the two corporals where vehicles were used to block them in which a crowd dragged them from the vehicle and left them for a PIRA team to kill. The men involved in the attack were well practiced in this drill and I was under no illusions about their intentions.”
Police have confirmed the attack and have taken the car and items of clothing for forensic examination and are investigating the case as attempted abduction. It is therefore beholden on Sinn Fein to drop their smoke screen. Their claims that this is a fantasy are not borne out by the police who attended the scene. Sinn Fein cannot have it both ways either they accept policing and the process of justice in al cases or they admit that they don’t accept it at all.
If Sinn Fein expect us to believe them then they must act in this case as they have done in others, they must condemn the attack on William Frazer unreservedly, they must call upon the local community to co-operate fully with the police and they must ensure that those individuals within their own ranks who were involved are handed over to the police.
Until they do that it will be clear that they have not changed, and that they are simply pretending to play at democracy. It is clear that there remain those in South Armagh who believe that they are the law and that they can still dictate who can and cannot enter the area. Speaking on that point William Frazer said “These Republican thugs do not intimidate me, they will not succeed they will not drive me out of this area. Attacks such as this merely confirm the even greater need for my work and make my determination all the greater. The illegal criminality in this area will stop, they can be sure of that.” |

BACK TO THE BAD OLD DAYS |
Thursday, 09 October 2008 |
Back to the bad old days is a slogan very fitting for Senator Obama’s Presidential campaign in regard to Northern Ireland. He has already been lobbied and converted by the most extreme and vociferous of Irish American groups. In the unseemly scramble for votes as the clock ticks in the US Presidential contest we have seen Obama scrape the barrel in true Bill Clinton fashion. We must all remember that in his clamber for the White House he made a series of rash promises to the Irish American lobby about granting Adams a Visa and accelerating the sanitization of terrorism which fed into the political process here. Indeed much of the drive to include Sinn Fein/IRA which hindered rather than helped the Peace process can be traced to Clinton’s commitment to a pro Sinn Fein Irish American lobby.
This appears to be repeated by Obama no doubt hoping to cash in on the same vote, however his clear ignorance of Irish affairs will create problems for the future in that if he enters the White House he will have to act on the promises he now makes. Those who deal with the devil will lose their souls and we fear that the constructive but unobtrusive approach we have seen from the Bush administration could be replaced with a partisan pro Republican agenda. This would set its sights on forcing unionists to accept the devolution of Policing and Justice before the community is ready and would threaten to either concede the Sinn Fein/IRA demands or force unionists to disengage and be blamed for any collapse.
Already Senator Obama has appointed an advisory panel on Irish issues, comprised of seven Irish American politicians. The group is comprised of Senators George Mitchell (retired, Maine), Chris Dodd (Connecticut), Edward Kennedy (Massachusetts) and Pat Leahy (Vermont), Governor Martin O’Malley of Maryland and Congressmen Joe Crowley (New York) and Richard Neal (Massachusetts). Many of these men are infamous for their pro IRA positions. He is also courting groups like the Irish-American Unity Conference which says it had secured Mr Obama's support for a fully independent inquiry, and even won his support for cancelling a Presidential contract with world class private security company Aegis Defense Services. This company has been the backbone of vital private security and development work in Iraq standing side by side with the British and American troops helping to provide the security and stability needed to rebuild that country. They protect vital workers and ordinary Iraqi people and without their support and work the country would be in dire circumstances. However a bitter petty lobby from Northern Ireland supported by Republican here and in the US have tried convinced Obama that’s he must end their contract. The reason – the CEO of Aegis Defense Services is Lt Col Tim Spicer a former Scots Guard officer whose troops were involved in the shooting of Peter McBride in disputed circumstances. Such is the bitterness of the McBride family and their Republican supporters that they have hounded the soldiers such as Lee Clegg remorselessly and have now turned their attention to a man whose only link to the incident was he was in command at the time. Their bigotry and bitterness knows no bounds and has now been adopted by a man who may become President of the United States. This is a disgrace and shows just how desperate he is for votes and how ignorant of the real facts.
Members of Obama’s group of Irish advisors are also active supporters of international terrorism such as Richard Neal who is currently supporting a terrorist bomber Pol Brennan who escaped from the Maze Prison and lived illegally in the USA until arrested by Federal agents in 1993 on a British extradition warrant. A convicted terrorist caught with explosives now held by immigration authorities in Texas seems a strange case for a President and his advisors to be supporting. Perhaps if he becomes President Obama will free the Al Queada prisoners in Guantanamo Bay and allow them to relocate to the States or perhaps those implicated in the 9/11 bombings will be granted work visas to pursue their interest in aviation!
It is not just victims and the people of Northern Ireland who should be worried about Obama’s lax attitude to terrorism. He appears very susceptible to its propaganda for example the case of Pat Finucane, who along with his brothers such as Dermot, cited as the mastermind of the Maze escape, provide a case study in terrorism not in innocence. We have long exposed the real pedigree of Pat Finucane and indeed have ourselves called for a full inquiry starting with his role within the PIRA both as its top lawyer and banker. Sean O’Callaghan the Officer Commanding the PIRA in the Republic of Ireland confirms that Pat Finucane turned the finances of the PIRA around. He also revolutionized their approach to the law, he was the most valuable asset a modern terrorist organisation has – a sleeper within the justice system.
He was invaluable as he a number of other trusted PIRA lawyers could gain access to terrorists who were arrested or questioned, they could advise them brief and debrief them and ascertain what information is any they had given to the authorities. Then the PIRA could act accordingly destroying evidence intimidating witnesses or protecting other terrorists or their operations which were exposed. He then could use the system to fight the system tying up the courts with procedural issues and citing Human Rights violations. Pat Finucane was not a Human Rights lawyer he was a terrorist Lawyer and helped oil the financial wheels of a murder machine.
We as victims will be contacting Senator Obama to see if he believes there should be an independent, public inquiry into the murders carried out by terrorists or is it only a one sided process he supports. Speaking on the issue Victims Campaigner William Frazer said
"Setting aside the Finucane case and the arguments around it, what would worry me is that we could be sliding back to the days in which an American leader, or those around him, without any real knowledge or understanding of Northern Ireland, just swallows the pro-republican agenda and regurgitates it. Victims call for equality and press for the need for similar inquiries into the thousands of unsolved murders and crimes by terrorists. If Mr Obama wishes to support the cause of a Human Rights lawyer murdered for his work he should address the case of Edgar Grahame murdered as he walked to his work at the Law Department of Queens university Belfast. His only crime in the eyes of the PIRA was he has taken one of their victims cases to the European Court of Human Rights.” |

Burn out the Protestants |
Thursday, 25 September 2008 |
FAIR are today calling for the police to be brought back into the Newtonhamilton area in numbers. We are calling for this on the heels of another vicious and uncalled for attack on the home of a Protestant man. The Protestants home at Tullygeasey Road in Newtownhamilton, was targeted late on Wednesday night by Irish republicans, a flammable liquid was poured through a window and set alight, then anti Protestant graffiti was daubed on the walls. The Protestant people of the area are at their wits end wondering who will be targeted next. Irish republicans have a long history of sectarian attacks in this area dating back many decades and its apparent that nothing has changed, this still want to totally exterminate those of a different religion from the area. Despite the decline of the Protestant population in the area from some 22% to less than 2% in the last few decades the Police and government is unwilling to recognise the sectarianism that is alive and well within its domain. Sinn Fein backed up by both governments and other party's talk up the peace on TV while the ordinary Protestant is being subjected to the most hideous of sectarian attacks, the burning of their homes. Newspaper reports from over the years are littered with literally thousands of sectarian attacks on Protestant homes, businesses and places of worship yet we have statements from the Police telling us all that things are vastly improved in place like South Armagh. These statements are a smoke screen which hide the cold hard truth from a watching world. We are seeking a meeting with the police and government who must act to ensure the safety of ordinary decent working class Protestants who are unfortunate enough to live in Irish Republican areas. Protestant children daily face a cauldron of sectarian abuse on the school buses and the attacks on homes are still happening so why wont they simply act to eradicate it. The people of this area demand protection and call on the Police to give it to them, we also call on Sinn Fein stop crying crocodile tears and actually do something about Irish republican sectarianism. We are sick of being second class citizens who are getting absolutely no help from anyone, Sinn Fein only add insult to injury when they appear on TV talking of equality and justice, the two things they are so willing to deny their Protestant neighbour. |
