FAIR welcomes the arrest of Kevin Crilly as he has been a well known member of the PIRA for the last 30 years and while in custody we believe he will be questioned about a number of other murders.

Crilly is one of 40+ OTR’s terrorists in South Armagh who William Frazer has been pushing for their arrests in connection with countless murders in the South Armagh area.

We sincerely hope prosecutions will arise from this arrest and if nothing else at least it is a start as we have been waiting a long time  and hopefully the victims will get some form of closure and be able to start moving forward with their lives.

As the government knows it will take more than a few token arrests in South Armagh but it sends a clear message to republican criminals that these murders are far from forgotten and they are not going to go away.

We hope this is the first of many of these republican criminals to be confronted with their murderous past and I will be monitoring the situation closely.

Perhaps we are now starting to see the benefit of many years campaigning to get these republican criminals off our streets and into prison where they belong.
